A menu created to suit the foods grown and raised here in New Brunswick.

The purpose of eating local is two fold; it supports the local agriculture, horticulture, and aquaculture industries, and it reduces the environmental impact of the diet by eliminating the need for transportation of food from warmer climes.

Also, there is significant weight to the suggestion that the foods which grow in a particular area are well-suited to the needs of the people in that area. Additionally, being bound to the local agriculture promotes a seasonal palate, which is better suited to the needs of the body at the time. There is less of a need for fat in the summer, and those with the seasonal palate will, in fact, instinctively crave lighter dishes.

This menu assumes a cerals-rich snacking pattern between meals, augmented with fruit. Otherwise, it comes fairly close to the Canada Food Guide reccomendations for adult males and females between the ages of 19 and 50.

Edit: Since text isn't allowed in this category (but there is also no "menus" category anywhere, I've appended the menu below)
